Russia’s ChelPipe to export large-diameter pipes to Austria’s OMV
MOSCOW, Oct 10 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling Plant (ChelPipe) has won a tender to supply large-diameter pipes to Austria’s OMV and will export pipes to the company’s unit in Romania for the first time, ChelPipe said in a statement on Tuesday.
“The order includes 850 tonnes of pipes, 508 millimeters in diameter with a wall thickness of 14.2 millimeters and with a three-layer polyethylene coating, and 1,620 tons of pipes with a wall thickness of 11 millimeters,” the company said.
“Pipes will be used to repair an existing OMV gas pipeline and to construct a new one in Romania. The job involves a challenging lead time for production and delivery. Under the terms of the contract concluded in September, ChelPipe Group will supply the first batch of pipes in October, 2017.”
To ensure a swift delivery of the pipes, to be produced by facility Vysota 239, the company has developed a multimodal logistics system involving transportation by rail, sea, and road, the statement read.
